In reply to Rohn’s post on October 24, Can I confirm from you that this fix also applies to Windows 7? Also I am not getting a fatal error as mentioned in the KB article. Mark P. In reply to T1nr1bs’s post on October 24, Yes it should work in Win7. OK – I;ve changed the permissions on both the registry and the Windows folder as explained. The issue is still the same. Have you booted between install attempts? Hi – I did reboot but it made no difference.

I have, however, resolved the issue and the fix is most odd. I was doing the installation over the company’s wireless network all the MSI installations I tried were via wireless. I just happened to connect the laptop to the network with a cable and try again and it all worked.

Must be some kind of timeout thing but why it affected every single MSI installation is totally beyond me In reply to T1nr1bs’s post on October 25, That’s computing for you, lovely little surprises around every corner Glad it worked out for you. This site in other languages x.
